For any offense, but especially for conceptual offenses, teaching players the concept of space - how to use space as a ballhandler, how to create space for the ballhandler, and how to maintain space throughout a possession - is paramount for effective offense.

Two concepts that will help with both maintaining proper spacing and creating advantage opportunities are locating to kick back and skip back spots.

A Step Toward Coordinating Efforts

Another form of decision-making involves the coordination of individual decisions within a group… By understanding and anticipating the decisions of those around them more efficiently than the opposition, good teams predict and react to one another optimally and achieve something that is similar to problem-solving or perhaps artificial intelligence.1
