🏀 Shooting SSG: L-Cut Shooting
I like to use this 1v1 game as a summer camp game or in a small two-man player workout. Along with shooting, I like to stress the footwork and balance needed to change directions on the cut and then turn on the catch-and-shoot shot opportunity. Here’s how it works:
Offense moves towards FT line as the defender chases.
The offense then chooses left or right L-cut. The defender must touch the opposite elbow then contest the jump shot.
🏀 Shooting SSG: Mid-Range Contested Jumpers
Similar to the game above, our emphasis again in footwork, quick acceleration, shot-making.
Shooter starts under the rim facing the coach. The defender starts at the top of the charge circle facing the shooter.
The shooter chooses which way to run. The defender touches the opposite block then contests the shot. (The shot can be a jumper or a 3PA)
3 New Small-Sided Games
Last week, I tried three small-sided games for the first time (games not original to me). They went well enough, and players enjoyed them to the point that I’m planning to keep all three as a part of our program’s games list. Now, I share them with you…
