The Ohio State University’s women’s basketball head coach, Kevin McGuff, was back on the podcast this week, this time to break down the OSU offense. The Buckeyes, who are currently undefeated (15-0) and ranked 9th in the country, are a concept-based team, primarily playing out of 5-Out concepts. Here’s a look at Coach McGuff’s offense.

In the clip below, you’ll see the Buckeyes begin with that stagger away out of their 5-Out alignment. On the catch, the 2 doesn’t make a play off the stagger but enters the ball to the pinch post and goes into point over action. Instead of the 4 running through the normal zoom action, she twists around and screens again for the 2.
