Jim Boone Talks Year 1 at Greensboro College
On this week’s episode of A Quick Timeout podcast, Jim Boone, head coach for the Greensboro College Pride, talks about the process of beginning to turn around a losing program. He shares practical advice, the ups and downs and the importance of staying true to your identity.

Want Your Team to Shoot Better from the FT Line?
Every coach agrees - the ability of players to make free throws in-game is essential. What isn’t agreed on is how to practice free throw shooting. I’ve had some coaches tell me they don’t devote any practice time to free throw shooting.
We do spend time on free throw shooting, but like every other drill, our FT drills are designed to maximize time and build other areas of our program at the same time. This week, I’m sharing with you a couple on-court “mini-clinics” from our coaching staff talking through ways we incorporate free throw shooting into our practice time.

SSG of the Week: 1v1 Contested Elbow Shooting
During camp season, I like to incorporate our Dr. Dish shooting machine into station work. This contested shooting drill is great for one of those stations.
Instructions: The ball is passed out to the coach. On the pass, 1 moves behind the coach for a hand-off while x1 touches the opposite elbow then moves to contest 1’s pull-up jumper.
