Last month, Coach Mark Cascio of SAVI Coaching joined A Quick Timeout podcast to discuss families of actions within conceptual offense. One of those series of actions he described is his Rose Series. This week, we dive into that series (with film and diagrams) to explain how you can teach and use Rose Series in your conceptual offense.
The number one thing I had to teach my players was our triggers to get into these actions. By naming those series, for example, “Rose Series,” I was able to say, “Rose Series,” and my players would think “Ok, that’s those three options of actions.” For me, it didn’t matter which action they chose to run. They knew how to play off each other’s movement. Whether we went Fingers, Fan, Follow - it didn’t matter. They all knew how to play off each other.
