🏀 1v1 Stampede Finishing Game

Catching on the split (or “stampede” step) is an important skill for perimeter players in creating an advantage off the catch with the drive. Rep the stampede step with this 1-on-1 finishing game.

Instructions:

• The defense begins on the side of the offense.

• The Dish (or a coach) passes to the offense.

• On the catch, play is live. (Players must finish in the paint)

🏀 1v1 Post Finishing

Here’s another 1-on-1 SSG, this time for players in the post. Focus on finishing against a help defender who comes over to contest the shot.

Instructions:

• The offense stands on the block closest the Dish. The defender stands in front of the rim.

• On the pass, the defender must touch the opposite block then contest the shot.

• The offense must either dribble or drop step on the catch to prevent a travel.
