Happy Independence Day! This week, I’m sharing several of my favorite sets from USA Basketball.
Iverson Opener
I love Iverson sets to open a game. Usually, we’ll put our best scorer (or our best matchup) in the “2” spot then let him go to work. However, in this play, 2 doesn’t fully use the two screens usually set in an Iverson action. Check it out…
4 clears to the opposite corner, while 2 runs over 3’s screen and receives a pass from 1
3 runs over 5’s screen and receives a pass from 2
3 has the whole right side of the floor to create an advantage
Elbow Ghost
You can use this as a standalone set or a call in our Princeton offense.
