There’s a big difference between doing a drill until you get it right and doing it until you can't get it wrong. Perfection drills raise the stakes of every single repetition, requiring absolute focus, perfect execution, and high-level communication from start to finish. By forcing players to fight through physical fatigue while executing the fundamentals, these exercises build the championship-level habits needed to perform in pressure situations.
I wouldn’t recommend substituting these for longer, more game-like drills and small-sided games; however, I have found that when used strategically, these drills can help build small habits that can make a big difference.
