Breaking down five small-sided games, great to run during your small group workouts. These SSGs can be used with or without your Dr. Dish shooting machine.

Also, be sure to check out this free resource, a SSG drill book I created with Dr. Dish Basketball.

2v1 Shooting

The defender starts with the basketball while two offensive players are positioned on the perimeter. The defender can choose which perimeter player to pass to. Key: Offensive players must have “ready hands, ready feet” in order to get the shot off. If the defender’s closeout takes away the shot (forcing the offense to make the “one more” pass to his teammate), then it is 1 point for the defender. Any made shot is worth 3 points. Each player keeps his own score.

The same game can be played with your shooting machine…
