Tired of watching your defense get cooked? It's time to work on our help D! This week, three small-sided games to teach your players the aggressiveness and skill needed to stop teams in the half court.

1v1 Help and Contest

Help defense starts with players being comfortable and playing aggressively as the help defender. Watch any younger player rotating over to help, and what you’ll see is a lack of aggressiveness to step up and stop the drive or contest the shot.

In my small two-man workouts, we’ll play 1v1 help and contest to teach players how to confidently contest the drive and shot without fouling.
