I spent some extra time this week thinking about our team’s culture and how we communicate things to our players. It brought me back to this list from long-time NBA assistant, Kevin Eastman. Might be worth sharing with your players and staff!
Program > Team > Player. The program is bigger than any single team, and the team is bigger than any individual player. We're all (including coaches) here to contribute to something lasting, something that extends beyond one season or one player's career. Understand that you are part of a legacy, and your actions reflect on everyone who came before and everyone who will come after.
